Learning to analyse the numbers will tell the story and help me grasp the big picture…I know this is very relevant to my new online store…I just have to figure out what I’m doing there.
I’m not sure whether I have experienced any 10 second miracles yet..but I do get ideas.
In August we have our Gold Coast Show, and one of my best mates was major sponsor..”The Friday Flyer” which is a community and advertising newsletter which he started a couple of years ago.I recommended he used Australia Post to deliver the Flyer rather than a junk mail delivery service because as a “Postie” I knew most junk mail deliveries ended up on the ground.
On my deliveries I noticed people were putting notes on their letterbox asking for the the “Friday Flyer” to be delivered but no other junk mail.
As my mate had a Promotional stand at the show I suggested he make a sticker for people to put on their letterbox to allow the “Friday Flyer” but no other junk mail..I then felt a little guilty knowing Australia Post was relying more and more on delivering advertising material so I said to my mate he should work with Australia Post and make a sticker that allowed only Australia Post mail and advertising. This would make Australia Post more attractive to advertisers and also help the “Posties” as less letterboxes would be clogged up with junk…And also my mate could get Aust Post to pitch in for the cost of the stickers.
Well my mate pitched the idea to our Aust Post regional office and they just couldn’t see it and just looked for reasons not to do it.My mate said it was like being in a room of zombies…
So nothing happened with that this year, but maybe after they have had a year to think about it…maybe next year.
I think I will focus on learning on how to build my online business rather than focusing on Australia Post if that’s ok…Even though it is rather daunting because I’m just so lost right now.
Kind regards,
Russ.
